The International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch (IVC) celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2024 and presents the 57th edition with Opera and Oratorio from Friday 27 September to Saturday 5 October at the Theater aan de Parade.
Founded in 1954 as a local competition for singers from the Benelux countries, the IVC has grown into one of the most important and prestigious classical singing competitions in the world. More than 600 singers from some 50 countries have entered and from these, 70 singers of the highest calibre present themselves in the first rounds.
The biggest names from the world of opera, oratorio and classical vocal music have been drawn to find the winner. Singers Dame Gwyneth Jones, Roberta Alexander, Eva-Maria Westbroek, Michael Chance and Rosemary Joshua (artistic director The National Opera Studio), Damià Carbonell Nicolau (head of artistic affairs The National Opera), Pål Christian Moe (casting consultant), Karen Stone (director Opera Europa) and Monique Wagemakers (opera director) make up the Jury. You decide who gets the audience award.
